Any easy to grow plants that are non toxic to cats?

Get a beautiful silk plant. A nice one is very real looking and needs no care, and will not be toxic. Keep in mind even a not so toxic plant could have been sprayed with poison in the garden center or at the growers, they usually are. One of my beloved cats died of liver failure . No one could figure out why. He was sick for quite a while and nothing seemed to help and I lost him. It was awful. Months later I took down a large hanging plant to repot it. It was a philodendron, a very common plant. I saw teeth marks in the leaves in the back. The vet said this definitely could have sickened and killed my cat and even if I had discovered it in time, there is no saving a cat in this condition. Dont chance it... go silk... also some cats like to use the soil in a plant as a potty box or even if the cat does not, the plant will attract them and they might well chew on it and ruin it anyway... Plant your cat some wheat berries or oat groats (cheap and available in the health food store or on line) in sterilized potting soil in a clean pot or window box. Put in a bright window, full sun not necessary but bright light or partial sun is. Keep well watered and in just a few days your cat will have healthy grass to nibble on. They love it and it is good for them. (cat salad). Put newspaper under the pot when u present it to the cat. They love it so much they sometimes make a mess with it but it is worth it to see their enjoyment.
