How can i make my relationship more exciting?

We've been dating for 7 months and we're pretty much in a state of decline. The sex is dull; its quiet, repetitive, and just plain average. Our outside relationship is taking a hit also, it has just lost its flare, i need some exciting ideas, dates and otherwise, to liven up and rekindle the spark.
