Is it illegal for your landlord to kick your friend out without given him a 30 day notice just because his nam?

i moved in with my my mom a month ago and now the landlord put a letter of the copy of the lease and it saids anybody who is not on the lease can stay there past ten days...and she saids he has already been liven here for a month that she cant let him stay any longer that he has to leave today......dosent she still have to give him a 30 day notice even tho it saids that in the lease because he didnt know
