Is there a value to writing answers where the author is using lampoonery in giving a reply?

To write answers to Yahoo Answers, should one always attempt accuracy? For the specific question, would an answer which was written to be witty or to kid around be better than not answering at all? It can be boring to read answers sometimes so why not liven up answers a bit on occasion?
